Safety is everyone's responsibility at OML. We take safety very seriously as can be seen from our safety policies. The safety and health of our employees is our first priority and greatest concern: Safety must come first, no matter how urgent the job.

OML promotes an employee owned safety culture by involving our employees to provide the best possible policies, procedures, and working conditions, while adhering to the highest safety standards within the maritime industry and in the oil and gas industry by providing leadership, education and to encourage vigilance and awareness in a culture of Safety.
Our HSE program includes responsibilities, job site safe work procedures and constant employee training and education. These Guidelines focus management, employee and vendor / contractor awareness on reducing risk of accidents and/or incidents in all activities. At each project start, all new workers receive an orientation to establish familiarity with all safety and site arrangements. Daily safety inspections are done to ensure safety compliance of all our workers.

We employ an aggressive behavioral based safety program that stresses the importance of thinking before acting. Our safety program begins at the hiring phase; we will not hire an employee unless he or she has significant experience and has demonstrated a commitment to safety. After carefully screening prospective employees, we immediately indoctrinate our people in the OML culture of safety. New employees undergo rigorous safety training “in the classroom” before being sent to the field.

Each new employee is assigned a mentor for additional training and supervision in the field. New employees are required to wear a “high-visibility orange" hardhat during the first six months of employment to alert co-workers that the employee is still in training. Through our in-house safety trainer and our outside safety consultants, our employees undergo comprehensive safety training on a regular basis.
